Canadian Human Rights Commission welcomes new full-time Commissioner

For over 20 years, Ms. Bramwell has practiced, taught, written and researched in the fields of labour law, human rights and administrative law. She has provided legal advice and representation on diverse issues including discrimination, accommodation, pay equity, contract interpretation and unfair labour practices.

After two decades of labour law advocacy, including pioneering work in improved access to justice, she comes to us from the Negotiations and Programs Branch of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, Canada’s largest federal public sector trade union. In her private life, Ms. Bramwell has served on the boards of several organizations which promote social justice, co-operative housing, equity and the arts.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Ontario and is currently completing a Master of Laws at York University, with a specialization in dispute resolution. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
