Mark Tewksbury to speak at "Accommodation Works" conference

OTTAWA, March 17, 2014 Mark Tewksbury, Olympic gold medalist and human rights champion will be a keynote speaker at "Accommodation Works! - Toward a more Inclusive Society," a two-day conference on human rights issues in Canada.

After launching his book and surprising the world by publicly coming out as a gay athlete, Tewksbury became a champion of human rights. He has been chef de mission for the London Olympics and a prominent media spokesperson for issues relating to LGBT rights. Over the years, he has helped many by sharing his struggles with tough issues of identity, relationships and depression.

The conference, to be held in Ottawa June 11-12, 2014, is being organized by the Canadian Human Rights Commission in conjunction with the Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies, the umbrella group that represents human rights institutions in Canadian provinces and territories, and with the support of the Mental Health Commission of Canada.

Mark Tewksbury’s presence will likely be one of the top attractions of this 2-day event. To register visit our website
