Based on your selections, the Canadian Human Rights Commission may be able to help you with a complaint. You will need to complete a complaint form. In that form, you will need to explain what happened to you in writing (max. 10,000 characters or three pages). You may wish to write out your story first in another document and then paste it into the “tell us your story” field in the form. In your story, please include all of the following information:

  • Who discriminated against you? Give the names of the people involved in your complaint.
  • What happened? How were you treated differently from others? Please provide dates where possible.
  • Why do you believe that the ground(s) of discrimination that you checked off are linked to what happened to you? Give examples, i.e., if you identify race as a ground, please indicate what your race is and how your race played a role in the treatment that you are complaining about.
